Foodia Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Foodia app and website. Foodia is a product of Jar XL Innovations LLC (“Jar XL Innovations”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Foodia, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Who can use Foodia
You must be at least 13 years old to use Foodia. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that happens under it.
Subscriptions and billing
- Foodia Premium is an auto-renewing subscription that gives unlimited use of the app's AI features (receipt scanning, AI recipe ideas, smart shopping lists, and insights). Every account gets 10 free AI actions to try those features first; once they are used up, the AI features require Premium. The free actions are one-time and do not renew.
- The price and billing period are shown in the app before you purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- On the web, Foodia Premium is purchased at foodia.food and billing is handled by Stripe. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime from the Account page in the app or on the web.
- In the iOS app, Foodia Premium is purchased, managed, and billed through the App Store under your Apple Account. Cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions — not from the Stripe portal. Refunds for an App Store purchase are handled by Apple under Apple's own refund policies, not by Foodia.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
User content and community rules
Foodia lets you post recipes and interact with other cooks through a public feed, comments and replies, follows, and direct messages sent when you forward a post to someone. You own the content you create, but you grant Foodia a license to host and display it so the app can function.
You agree not to post or send content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, abusive, obscene, threatening, infringing, spam, or otherwise objectionable. This applies to private messages exactly as it applies to public posts. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
We provide tools to report objectionable content — a post, a comment, a conversation, or a user — and to block other users. Blocking stops that person messaging you, sending you recipes, or seeing your posts. We review reports and may remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that violate these Terms — typically within 24 hours of a report. Posts, comments and messages are also screened automatically before they are stored, and content that fails that check is rejected.
Health and nutrition disclaimer
Foodia's recipes, nutrition estimates, expiration dates, and AI suggestions are for general informational purposes only and may be inaccurate. They are not medical, dietary, or food-safety advice. Always use your own judgment about what is safe to eat, and consult a professional for medical or dietary needs.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service — for example by attempting to break security, scrape data, disrupt the service, or use it to violate the law or others' rights.
Affiliate links
Foodia participates in the Amazon Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, Foodia earns from qualifying purchases. Using these links costs you nothing extra.
Termination
You can stop using Foodia and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Foodia is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Foodia will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida, and you and we each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
